Let us Flock together with Blockchain Technology...
A Blockchain is a continuously growing list of records, called blocks, which are linked and secured using cryptography. Each block typically contains a cryptographic hash of the previous block, a timestamp and transaction data. By design, a Blockchain is inherently resistant to modification of the data. It is "an open, distributed ledger that can record transactions between two parties efficiently and in a verifiable and permanent way". For use as a distributed ledger, a Blockchain is typically managed by a peer-to-peer network collectively adhering to a protocol for inter-node communication and validating new blocks. Once recorded, the data in any given block cannot be altered retroactively without the alteration of all subsequent blocks, which requires collusion of the network majority...

The way that websites are being developed is also changing because of this Web evolution, giving to Web developers new technologies where computers can better understand and give meaning to content. This chapter presents an overview of technologies considered to be included on the Web 3.0 concept. The main objective of the chapter is to introduce a conceptual framework of Web 3.0, or Semantic Web, technologies that can be used for developing a website. This review of literature introduces the evolution of each of the technologies mentioned, as well as their functions. Some examples and opportunities for use are also presented. The chapter offers a current state-of-the-art and an opportunity for future relevant research in the Web development area.
With blockchain, product based companies like pharmaceutical and other companies can closely track products and medications throughout the entire supply chain by individual serial numbers. The network ledger records production updates by serial number, and serves as a tamper-proof source of truth that eliminates opportunity for wicked actors. Blockchain works to track the origin of a good thanks to digital tokens that are issued by each member in the supply chain to validate or authenticate its movement. Every time the product changes hands, the token moves in lockstep. ... Blockchain technology can also make the survey process more efficient. In short, blockchain can help to point-out traceability challenges. Track and trace functionality solutions implemented with blockchain enable entire supply chain networks to document updates to a single shared ledger, which provides total data visibility and a single source of truth.

World over, the new term - ‘Industry 4.0’ is fast gaining momentum. This new, disruptive technology has recently found its curve of progression and has transformed and reshaped the way things are viewed in the manufacturing segment, which also includes the automotive sector. This business era, after Industry 4.0, is viewed as a basket of Information and Communications Technology (ICT)/ digitally-enabled technologies. These include developments in production equipment, smart finished products, data tools and analytics that use Internet of Things (which can include 3-D printing, prototypes, connected cars, product lifecycle management, cyber physical production systems among others.) The vision of Industry 4.0 is likely to be adopted worldwide and it might influence other initiatives and cooperative efforts. In general, there are nine key technological components that progressively make up the foundation of Industry 4.0: Autonomous robots, big data, augmented reality (AR), additive manufacturing, cloud computing, cyber security, IoT, system integration, and simulation. Industry 4.0 is used interchangeably with the fourth industrial revolution and represents a new stage in the organization and control of the industrial value chain. Cyber-physical systems form the basis of Industry 4.0 (e.g., ‘smart machines’). They use modern control systems, have embedded software systems and dispose of an Internet address to connect and be addressed via IoT (the Internet of Things).
The retail sector is of paramount importance across the country. It operates as a gateway to consumers from upstream sectors, accounts for almost 5% of GDP, and employs about 1 in 12 workers. COVID-19 has dramatically disrupted the sector, with the shock differing massively between brick-and-mortar versus online shops, essential versus non-essential stores, and small versus large retailers.
A cross-sectoral team from GS1 Global Office came together to submit a policy paper offering 10 key recommendations
on how GS1 global data standards can help rebuild better supply chains and prepare for future disruptions.
Recommendation 1:
Use standardised unique product identification across international supply chains.
Digitalization allows industrial SMEs to introduce effective processes to mass produce higher-quality products at lower costs. When talking about technologies, the cornerstones that are shaping Industry 4.0 for businesses of all sizes are: cloud computing; the Internet of Things; Big Data and analytics; additive manufacturing; and autonomous robotics.
Ladies and gentlemen, The world is changing fleetly, and with it, the way we produce, distribute and consume products is evolving. As consumers, we're getting more consciou of the products we buy and consume, with a growing concern for their origin, quality and safety. In the realm of force chain and organic products, blockchain technology offers a result to these enterprises.
In conclusion, blockchain technology can be a game-changer for the supply chain and organic products. It provides an innovative way to address the challenges faced by the industry while improving consumer trust and satisfaction. So let us FLOCK TOGETHER WITH blockchain technology and use it to build a better future for all.
